Single shot falling block rifle with adjustable ladder notch rear sight and blade front sight. Item features a saddle bar and ring, patchbox on right side, and single barrel band. Markings include 1852 Sharps patent date marks and R.S. Lawrence 1859 patent dates both to lockplate.
Fair. Bore is bright with some scattered pitting and strong three-groove rifling. Metal polished and rebuled retaining no finish on the receiver and most markings gone. Forearm replaced. Buttstock shows heavy wear, chipped loss around the tang, numerous marks, mars and some gouges. Action is functional.
