Remington New Model Navy Factory Conversion with Ejector

.38 Rimfire. 7.5" barrel length. SN: 40597. Blued metal finish with brass triggerguard, two piece walnut grips, and octagonal barrel. Single-action six-shot loading gate revolver conversion of Remington New Model Navy revolver. The barrel shows a weak patent and address mark in three lines reading PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK U.S.A./NEW-MODEL. Item features the loading lever cut to retain the ejector rod, and features the conversion plate with loading gate. The barrel and frame show matching serial numbers with assembly number 648 appearing on the grips and aforementioned parts.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is Dark with patina throughout, some patched oxidation, and strong rifling. Exterior metal finish is a dark brown patina with some rounding along edges of the metalwork. The triggerguard shows a light patina, and the cylinder, interior frame, and the muzzle all show some pitting. Grips have handling wear, mars, and some dings. The action times and indexes but has a loose lockup.
