Lot Description
Whitney Navy Cartridge Conversion
.38 Centerfire. 7.5" barrel length. SN: 28796. Gray patina overall with brass triggerguard and mounting two piece walnut grips. Single action loading gate cartridge conversion revolver mounting an octagonal barrel with front bead and topstrap notch sights. The revolver has been fitted with a conversion plate screwed into the recoil shield, along with a cut down cylinder capable of using metallic cartridges. The top of the barrel shows the manufacturer marking E. WHITNEY/NEW HAVEN. Item is otherwise void of markings and has had the loading lever removed.

Condition Report
Good. Bore is Dark with patina throughout and some pitting. The metal finish overall is a gray patina with mottled light pitting and brown patina overall. The triggerguard shows a tarnished finish, and both grip panels show handling wear, mars, and dings overall. The front and rear edges of the grip panels show some chipping. Action is nonfunctional.
