Colt Round Barrel Pocket Navy Cartridge Conversion with Ejector

.38 Centerfire. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 41141. Blued and casehardened metal finish with brass gripstraps and mounting carved ivory grips featuring a Mexican style eagle devouring a snake relief engraved on the left panel. Single-action loading gate revolver with conversion plate affixed to the recoil shield and the Ormsby {Stagecoach Hold UP} scene roll engraved on the cylinder. Item mounts the solid round barrel with an ejector rod assembly. Markings include a 36 CAL mark on the left triggerguard and a weak two-line manufacturer mark on the barrel reading COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO/HARTFORD CT U.S.A. Left frame displays the two-line conversion patent mark reading -PAT. JULY. 25. 1871-/-PAT. JULY. 2. 1872.-. Serial numbers match on the gripstraps, frame, barrel, arbor pin, and the cylinder. Mounts a replaced wedge pin screw, and is missing the right backstrap screw. Wedge pin is a roughly made replacement. The frame, barrel, and gripstraps all show an I.P. inspector stamp. Right side of the grips features an unsigned oval plate.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is Very Dark with pitting and patina throughout. Overall metal finish is a dark brown patina with scattered mars to the edges. Forward cylinder, muzzle, and forcing cone all show some pitting. The gripstraps have scattered mars and an amber patina overall. Grips show some cracking at the butt and to the oval plate on the right panel. Grips leave a gap behind the frame and fit proud of the forward gripstrap. Action times and indexes correctly.
