Lot Description
Lot of 2 US Swords Including: Navy Model 1852 and Model 1860 Staff & Field
1.) USN Model 1852 - 32" blade. 38.5" overall with hilt and scabbard. Single edged spear point blade with 18" off-center stopped median fullers and central ridges to both sides. Blade is acid etched with patriotic motifs, a Star of David to right side ricasso, and N.S. Meyer Inc. marks to left side ricasso. Gilt hilt has pierced floral filigree and USN motifs to guard, as well as sea creature knuckle guard, and pommel with eagle and 13 stars. Grip is white shagreen, with 13-groove twisted wiring and a gold bullion cord. Scabbard is black leather with gilt mounts showing cast knots to hangers and a sea serpent to drag. Modern production.

2.) US Model 1860 Staff & Field - 30" blade. 38" overall with hilt and scabbard. Single edged spear point blade with median ridges to both sides. Blade shows acid etched floral scroll surrounding a battle scene with a fort and soldiers to right side. Obverse side is etched showing the name C.A. Graff and an SV surrounding by floral motifs, also an 1861/65 vignette and two soldiers. Gilt hilt has a folding clamshell guard with patriotic motifs and a white shagreen grip with 13-grooved twisted wiring wrapping. Scabbard is bright finished metal with brass mounts.

Condition Report
1.) Very good. Scabbard has some losses and light scratches. 

2.) Good. Blade shows some light scratches and sprinkled pitting. Scabbard has pitting scattered overall.
