Lot Description

Lot of 3 US Army Swords Including: Model 1902, Model 1860 Staff & Field, Model 1872 Light Cavalry
1.) M1902 - 28.5" blade. 36" overall. Single edged straight back point blade and 22" off-center fullers to both sides. Blade is etched with floral and patriotic motifs to both sides, and C.J. Sowinksi to left side. Ricassos have Horstmann marks. Bright finished hilt has a four branch guard and knuckle bow, with swept up quillon, metal backstrap, and hard rubber grip with hand grooves. Includes bright finished metal scabbard with double hangers. Leather throat washer present. 

2.) M1872 Light Cavalry Saber - 27" blade. 34.5" overall. Single edged straight back point blade with 24" fullers and 23" quill fullers to both sides. Blade is etched with floral filigree and patriotic motifs, as well as Ridabock maker's marks. Brass hilt has a three branch guard with cast floral, patriotic, and sunburst motifs. Grip is shagreen wrapped with beaded wiring. Bright metal scabbard has floral cast brass hangers and a sunburst drag. 

3.) Import M1860 Staff & Field Sword - 31" blade. 37" overall. Double edged spear point blade with central ridges to both sides. Blade is etched with scroll and patriotic motifs, as well as Ridabock maker's marks and GERMANY to ricasso. Brass hilt has a half clamshell guard, knuckle bow, and pommel cast with patriotic motifs. Grip is shagreen wrapped with cast brass wiring that has floral motifs. Scabbard is blued metal with cast floral brass double hangers and drag.
