Pair of Artillery 1st Lieutenant's Shoulder Straps & Bullion 1st Artillery Insignia in Half of a Tintype Case
Insignia is mounted in half of a papier-mache quarter plate image casing. Shoulder straps are nominally 4" long by 1.45" wide with .26" gilt bullion boarders, .27" wide lieutenant's bars and with a red velvet background. Black fabric backing, straps are mounted to the case and cannot be removed to inspect their backs. The bullion crossed cannon insignia has a 1 in the center for an unknown 1st artillery regiment and measures nominally 2.15" long by 1.15" wide.
Condition Report
Good. Straps with some wear and traces of gilt on the bullion. Artillery insignia with similar wear.
