Lot Description
** Composite Colt Model 1911A1 Pistol on Remington Rand Frame

.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: 896472. Parkerized finish overall with Keyes fiber grips and featuring all the A1 modifications. The slide is struck UNITED STATES PROPERTY on the right side followed by M 1911A1 U.S. ARMY. The rear slide features the {Crossed Cannons} marking, and the triggerguard bow is double marked with the number 4. Left frame is stamped FJA for inspector Frank J. Atwood, an inspector who evaluated Remington Rand produced 1911A1 pistols. Comes with a post-war Colt manufactured slide with the left slide marked GOVERNMENT/MODEL COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBER .45 followed by the {Rampant Colt} logo in front of the cocking serrations. Comes with a single blued finish and unmarked magazine. The barrel is stamped P on the left lug. Grips feature the {Star K} marking on the interior of the right panel. Left panel is cast with an L marking.

Condition Report

Very Good as Refinished and Rebuilt. Bore is Minty with sharp rifling. The slide and frame show some light edgewear with additional scratches and cycling scratches scattered on the slide. The left frame has a reassembly scratch with some brown patina forming over the front gripstrap and on the mainspring housing. Grips are without noticeable handling wear with few scratches.
