** Colt Single Action Army

.38 WCF. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 306232. (Mfg. ca.1908) Blued metal finish with casehardened frame and small parts, and mounting hard rubber Rampant Colt grips. Single action six-shot loading gate revolver using a topstrap notch and front blade sights, kidney shaped ejector rod head, smokeless frame, and blackpowder rifling. The left frame has been struck with the two line patent mark followed by {Rampant Colt} within a circle. The triggerguard shows the VP monogram Colt proof mark along with a punch dot marking. The left barrel reads 38 W.C.F. with the address presented in one line reading COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. The serial numbers match on the gripstraps and frame. Cylinder chambers have been sleeved.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is Frosty with a brown patina throughout and light pitting. The Bluing is retained at the edges of the barrel and triggerguard but a mottled gray to brown patina dominates. Some color casehardening remaining on the interior of the frame and the hammer flanks. The grips show light handling wear and some mars. The action displays good timing.
