** Winchester Model 1873 Rifle - Last Year of Production
.44-40. 20" barrel length. SN: 715191B (mfg. ca.1923). Chemically cleaned metal finish with smooth walnut stocks mounting crescent shaped buttplate with trapdoor void of tools. Item features an octagonal barrel with folding rear ladder and front blade sights. The tang is marked MODEL 1873/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF. The breechblock is marked 44 CAL., and the .44 WCF marking on the left barrel flat remains legible. Winchester address to left barrel is weak.

Condition Report
Fair. Bore is Frosty with strong rifling throughout and some flaking and pitting near the muzzle. Overall metal finish has weak edges and a dull gray appearance typical of chemically cleaned firearms. Pitting is scattered overall with the barrel displaying additional rough abrasions. Forend has split along its upper edge with mars, dings, and abrasions appearing overall. The action is functional.
