Lot Description
Composite Colt Model 1860 Army
.44" Caliber. 8" barrel length. SN: 158703. Blued and casehardened metal finish with brass triggerguard and iron backstrap mounting one piece walnut grips. Single action six-shot percussion revolver with round barrel mounting a German silver front sight. The address marking to the barrel is weak and buffed over but reads ADDRESS COL. ...  U. S. AMERICA. The left frame is marked COLTS/PATENT, and the left triggerguard marked 44 CAL. Serial numbers match on the gripstraps and barrel. The arbor pin is numbered 1772. The cylinder is unmarked, and retains machine marks and crisp roll engraving and no safety pins suggesting it is a modern replacement. The rear forcing cone has been buffed down to match the new cylinder. The wedge pin is likewise unmarked, and retained by a replacement wedge pin screw, and forward triggerguard screw.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
