The bracketed barrel address reads {ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW YORK CITY}. Left frame is struck COLTS/PATENT. The cylinder shows few faint traces of Ormsby's {Stagecoach Hold Up} scene and a nonmatching serial number reading 2097. The arbor pin has no visible serial number, and the backstrap shows sharp edges consistent with replacement, and has likely been renumbered to match the frame. The forward edge of the loading lever has been brass brazed into place, likely indicating that the barrel and loading lever were cut down at some point. The revolver shows a buffed finish overall from aggressive cleaning.
