The stock has been shimmed to the forend below the barrel. Mounts standard Buffington 1901 pattern rear and front blade sights, with the rear sight graduated to 2000 yards. No Carbine mark visible on the base of the rear sight. Partial inspectors cartouche to the wrist is dated 1899, though the serial number corresponds with a production date of 1903. Rifle mounts a 1905 pattern sling held together with shoelaces.
