Second edition of the first illustrated Vitruvius. Edited by Giovanna Giocondo, the first edition was published two years earlier, in 1511. This edition is the first pocket-sized printing, and is expanded with the inclusion of Frontinus’s treatise on aqueducts, as well as the inclusion of four woodcuts not featured in the first edition. The woodcuts used in this edition are reduced, and less sophisticated, versions of those used in the first edition.
