Two parts in one volume (with: Julius Frontinus' De aquaeductibus urbis Romae). 8vo. ff. 192, 24, (20) (irregularities in foliation, signature K incorrectly printed as "I"). Edited by Giovanni Giocondo. Illustrated with printer's device on title-page and CC4v, and with 140 in-text woodcut illustrations. Full contemporary brown calf, decorated in blind, rebacked, red morocco spine label, stamped in gilt, boards and extremities rubbed and worn; all edges trimmed; endpapers renewed; prelims moderately soiled and worn; scattered soiling to text; Metropolitan Museum of Art slip tipped-in at leaf 21 ("Bequest of W. The Guinta family's 1522 edition of Roman architect Vitruvius's Ten Books of Architecture. This edition is a reprint of their edition of 1513, with newly set type and printed in italics. Published in a portable size, this work features 140 woodcut illustrations, reproduced in a reduced size, and sophistication, from the first illustrated edition of Vitruvius, published in 1511 by Giovanni Tacuino. Vitruvius's work is followed by Julius Frontinus's De aquaeductibus urbis Romae.
