[Children's & Illustrated] Beardsley, Aubrey. A Book of Fifty Drawings
London: Leonard Smithers, 1897. First and limited edition, Large Paper issue, #15/50 numbered copies, signed and numbered by the publisher and printed on Japan vellum. Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Beardsley and 50 plates, by Beardsley. Publisher's full vellum, stamped in gilt; top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed; illustrated book-plate on front paste-down, "Brian Reade" written in pencil below same. Lasner 112
A fine limited edition of Beardsley's work. Brian Reade was an acclaimed scholar on the work of Beardsley, whose many exhibitions and monographs on the artist helped bring renewed interest to Beardsley's work during the second half of the 20th century.
