(London): J.M. Dent, 1893-94. In two volumes. First edition, one of 1,500 unnumbered copies of the ordinary paper issue (from a total edition of 1,800). Thick 4to. Illustrated with two frontispieces, full- and double-page woodcuts, and numerous decorative borders, initials, head- and tail-pieces, as well as other decorative elements, by Beardsley. Publisher's full beige cloth-covered boards, stamped in gilt; spines darkened; book-plate on front paste-down of each volume; contemporary ownership signature of "A.G. McArthur / Oct. 25th 1898" on front free endpaper of each volume; slight wear to front and rear hinge of second volume. Lasner 22; Gaines A14.a.1
