[CHICAGO]. Greeley-Carlson Company's Second Atlas of the City of Chicago. Chicago: R.R. & R.H. Donnelley, 1891-1892.
Volume II only (of 2), large folio (25 x 31 1/2 in.). 48 pages chromolithographed maps/plats. (Early pages loose with some chipping at edges, deterioration to leather tabs with offsetting). Later cream cloth, with original cloth printed title laid down (soiling, front hinge broken, "Vol. 2" handwritten to spine).
FIRST EDITION of the second volume of Greeley-Carlson's second atlas of Chicago showing neighborhoods on a scale of 100 feet to one inch. Colored maps show real estate developments, railroads, docks, parks, and other public property. This volume shows "territory bounded by Twenty-Second St., Thirty-Ninth St., Ashland Avenue and Lake Michigan." RARE: online records indicate that no copies have ever sold at auction, OCLC lists only 2 copies at Northwestern University and the Library of Congress.
