Sale of Valuable Real Estate. "Turner B. Morton and Others, vs. Lucy Ann Morton and Others, Petition for Partition & Assignm't of Dower. Pursuant to an order of the Circuit Court of Scott county, Illinois, made in the above entitled cause, at the October Term thereof A.D. 1867, the undersigned, Master in Chancery for said county, will offer at public sale to the highest bidder, on the premises, situated on the BANK of the ILLINOIS RIVER, opposite the town of Montezuma, on Friday, December 20th, A.D. 1867,...the Ferry, Landing, Boats and Property known as the Montezuma Ferry --- in Scott county, Illinois. Signed in type by Geo. G. Terry. 6 November 1867. 1p, 17.5 x 12 in. (re-backed, chipping along edge lines, scattered losses including along center fold).

(creasing and some tears at folds, small holes at corners, adhesive on verso). Pencil correction on the word "northwest" changed to "northeast." Handwritten ink notation below list of personal property: "And twelve head of sheep"

Document gives notice as required by Illinois statutes that a public sale is to be conducted of land and lots against which judgement was rendered for delinquent taxes...." With description of lots in Canalport. Signed in type by John Carne, Jr. 1p, 8 1/2 x 11 in. (completed separated at center horizontal folds, soil, creasing).
