Single action percussion revolver mounting German silver front blade and hammer notch rear sights. The single line barrel address reads -ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-, with the left frame displaying the COLTS/PATENT marking followed by 44 CAL on the left triggerguard. The grips have no visible cartouches, but the metal components display scattered martial inspection markings including O and L initials to the triggerguard, L to the arbor pin, B and I to the cylinder, L and C to the barrel, and an O stamp on the rear gripstrap. The loading lever stud is a period replacement that has been silver soldered in place. The cylinder retains Ormsby's {Naval Engagement} roll engraving. Serial numbers match where visible including the wedge pin.
