Die Stamped US Military Eagle Belt Plate ca.1814-1830 Campbell & Howell #183

2.78" wide by 2.36" tall gilt stamped brass plate with a 2.18" long brass wire piece on the rear securing two moveable iron prongs. Rear face with a .82" x .52" tongue. Face with a {Spread-Winged American Eagle} under an arc reading E PLURIBUS UNUM and an arc of stars.

Condition Report

Fine. Crisp face with traces of gilt, lower left corner with a tiny bend and a couple of minor dents in the plate.
