** Smith Corona U.S. Model 1903-A3 Rifle
World War II

.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 4800806. Parkerized metal finish. Walnut "S" stock has a plain straight grip, forearm without grasping grooves, and full length hand guard. Bolt action rifle with adjustable stamped metal rear peep sight and blade front sight. Item features an internal box magazine, stacking sling swivels, and checkered trapdoor buttplate void of contents. Markings include U.S./SMITH-CORONA/MODEL 03-A3/4800806 to receiver ring. Barrel is marked S C/{flaming bomb}/12-42 behind front sight. Stock is marked with a circle P proof to bottom of grip and left side face is marked with an FJA Frank J. Atwood inspector cartouche. Bottom of forearm is also marked with several boxed and circled letter markings. Right side face of buttstock has the name DICK scribed with pencil. Included with item is an OD green sling.

Condition Report

Good to very good. Bore is bright with some light powder residue. Finish has scratching and tooling marks scattered overall. Wood stock is in good condition, with some scattered light scratches. Handguard has rough scratching overall, possibly refurbished at some point. Sling hardware has some oxidation and residue.
