[CIVIL WAR - PHOTOGRAPHY]. A pair of tintypes of young federal soldiers with apparent eye injuries, comprising:
Ninth plate tintype bust-length portrait of a young soldier wearing a 13 button shell jacket and what appears to be a bandage near his left eye. N.p., ca 1860s.
Ninth plate hand-tinted tintype. (Excellent tonality.) Housed in a full book-style lacquered case with mother-of-pearl inlay (some oxidation to mat and preserver, else good.) Printed card with image identifies subject as Private Israel Gilbert of the 1st Pennsylvania Light Artillery, though this cannot be confirmed.
[With:] Sixth plate tintype half-length portrait of a young infantryman with his right eye closed, possibly due to injury. N.p., ca 1860s.
Sith plate tintype. (Scratches, darkened). Housed in a half pressed paper case with geometric motif (very minor wear to extremities).
