Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. 3 tintypes of Union soldiers, incl. double-armed cavalryman.
Sixth plate tintype of a Union first lieutenant with a mustache and an almost bored expression. (Discoloration/darkening to lower image; unsealed.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case with gilt patriotic motif. -- CDV-sized tintype full standing portrait of a cavalryman armed with pistol and sword, wearing an eagle-in-wreath belt plate on his sword belt. (Creased, with some crackling, spotting, and other surface imperfections; unsealed.) Housed in a leatherette case. -- "8th plate" tintype full standing portrait of an officer of indecipherable rank, wearing a 9-button frock coat and shoulder straps, and standing in front of a backdrop painted to look like a fancy studio. (Image somewhat dark, a few surface imperfections including to subject's face; unsealed.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case. -- Together, 3 tintypes of Union soldiers.
