Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. 3 tintypes of likely Union soldiers, one posed with a Remington revolver.
Ninth plate ambrotype of a weary soldier wearing a large forage cap, and having a blanket draped around his shoulders. (Significant haloing effect, darkening, spotting; unsealed.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case. -- Ninth plate oval tintype of a young soldier wearing a sack coat and holding what appears to be possibly a Remington Army revolver, though the barrel appears to be round. He poses before a detailed backdrop. (Few surface imperfections.) Housed in an oval-shaped, floral Union case (soiling). -- Sixteenth plate oval tintype of a bushy-bearded gentleman, wearing what appears to be a uniform, though details are difficult to discern. (Few surface imperfections; unsealed.) Housed in an oval-shaped, figural Union case (soiling). -- Together, 3 images of likely soldiers.
